# Multi-Factor Authentication

Turn two-factor authentication on or off for your Tradeview Markets Cabinet login.

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a time-based six-digit code to your Cabinet sign-in. After it is enabled, you need both your password and the current code from your authentication app.

## Turn on 2FA

### Open the security setting

Sign in to the Cabinet. Select the settings icon at the bottom of the left menu, then open **2-factor authentication**.

### Start setup

Read the description and select **Turn on**. Install or open an authentication app on your mobile device before continuing.

### Add the Cabinet to your authentication app

Select the option in the app to add an account. Scan the QR code shown in the Cabinet. If the Cabinet offers a manual-code option, enter that code into the app instead.

### Confirm the six-digit code

Enter the current six-digit code displayed by your authentication app in the Cabinet, then submit it. The Cabinet confirms that 2-factor authentication is on.

## Sign in after 2FA is enabled

1. Enter your Cabinet email and password.
2. Open the authentication app you used during setup.
3. Enter its current six-digit code before it refreshes.
4. Select the sign-in action to continue.

## Turn off 2FA

1. Sign in to the Cabinet.
2. Open the settings icon and select **2-factor authentication**.
3. Select **Disable 2FA** or **Disable**.
4. Enter the requested verification code.
5. Confirm the change and verify the Cabinet displays that two-factor authentication has been deactivated.

## If setup fails

1. Check that the code is from the authentication app linked to this Cabinet login.
2. Wait for a new six-digit code and enter it before it expires.
3. If the Cabinet says the QR-code session expired, sign in again and restart setup.
4. If the QR code does not load, select **Try again**.

Do not share a 2FA code, QR code, or setup key. Treat all of them like your password. If you lose access to the authentication app, contact support without sending those codes.
