Meet Tim Furey — the guy who still thinks the trading floor was the original social network, only louder, and with worse coffee.

Timothy Warren Furey, known professionally as Tim Furey, is Founder and CEO of Tradeview Markets. He got into markets the old-fashioned way: before “the app” was a thing, before spreads hid in the fine print, and before anyone pretended a webinar was the same as standing in a pit. Commodity and futures first. Then the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade. Then screen-based proprietary trading when the industry started moving from shouting to clicking. He still prefers the version where the price is the price.

## From the trading floor to Tradeview

Tim earned a B.S. in Business Economics and Finance from Southern Connecticut State University and played varsity football while he was there. He will tell you the useful parts were not the highlights. They were the early mornings, the hits you didn’t see coming, and the habit of showing up anyway. That same habit later showed up in markets.

Early career: commodity broker work, training with Merrill Lynch Futures, then floor trader at the CBOT doing commercial hedging and market making. In 2001 he joined Schonfeld Securities as a proprietary trader. Watching open outcry give way to electronic markets is what stuck. Access, speed, and whether the client actually got a fair shot at the price — those questions never left.

## Building Tradeview Markets

He founded Tradeview in 2004 to give independent traders institutional-style access to FX without the usual fog. Early years included a connection with Rosenthal Collins Group, a move to independent brokerage in 2009, and the evolution into Tradeview Markets in 2015. The company has been in electronic market access since 2004. The pitch has stayed stubbornly simple: innovation, client trust, transparency, technology, liquidity, and support that does not vanish after the account is funded.

That philosophy now lives in EDGE — Tradeview’s ultra-low latency, AI-assisted execution environment. Raw pricing. Tight, honest spreads. Surgical routing. No marketing fog machine. Tim’s stated preference is still the same one he had on the floor: a serious trading environment, clear pricing, and service instead of gimmicks. If your broker needs a slogan more than it needs a fill, he is not your guy.

## A life that is not only markets

Rugby has been in the picture for a long time. Tim played for Old Blue RFC in New York. Through Tradeview he has backed grassroots rugby, youth development, and women’s rugby — including girls’ and women’s programmes in the Cayman Islands and a 2023 partnership with Leicester Tigers Women. The company has also supported women’s and children’s self-defence programmes. The theme is consistent: give people tools, then get out of the way.

Off the pitch and off the screens, he lives as a U.S. citizen in Grand Cayman with his wife Carol, their daughter Tiffany, and their son Maximus. He is the kind of father who will take a five-year-old to a business meeting and call it early life skills. He believes difficulty is not a bug. It is the part that makes the result worth anything. His working rule is simple: income grows in proportion to the size of the problems you are willing to solve. Action over inaction. Daily grind. Family first. Then build the next thing.

That next thing includes Yimmit, a crypto platform aimed at real markets and real users, not vibes. Same founder habit: see a gap, refuse the easy version, ship something that has to work under pressure.

## In conversation

Tim has talked about the early grind of building Tradeview, market structure, leadership, and long-term growth across financial and business media. Tradeview’s Press & Media page includes a Bloomberg TV interview from The American Dream series, hosted by Eric Roberts, plus independent coverage. Read the original pieces for full context; outside publishers speak for themselves.

The short version: he started on a loud floor, built a brokerage that tries not to hide the ball, and still thinks the useful edge is execution, transparency, and doing the hard parts on purpose.
